Comfort Food Recipes Biography

We love sharing what we learn along the way with others. As the saying goes ‘give a man a fish and feed him for a day…teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime’.

Our adventure into eating real, natural and nutrient dense food started in 2008. Since then, we have spent hours refining recipes and coming up with unique and fun ways to prepare food to make it really tasty. Personally, we follow this paleo lifestyle because we look, feel and perform better this way. It works for us in our lives.

We believe that food should be something enjoyed and shared, not stressed out and/or obsessed over. We believe that there is a reason you bring a neighbor a meal when they are celebrating the arrival of a new baby, or when you are wanting to help comfort them in times of recovery. Food is life, and is a very fun part of our life, and as much as we love to cook for our friends and families, we love being able to share these recipes with you.

Note: while Charles would love to be a “professional” hunter, neither one of us are professionally trained chefs who attended the Culinary Institute of America, nor are we medical professionals and authorized in any way to offer medical advice. Just wanted you to know. If you came by here looking to learn how to tourné a potato, or are wanting lengthy, science-y, scholarly research-cited article as to why grains might be problematic, we’re sorry to disappoint. But we will be more than happy to provide you with some ideas as to where you might find such info!

We hope you enjoy our book and the content we’re putting up here. We love sharing the things we’re passionate about with others, and we hope that perhaps you’ll learn something fun and/or useful along the way.

Losing weight—and keeping the pounds off—isn't a quick or easy process, but a few simple diet tricks can be a big help along the way. Our favorites? Eating lots of protein, fiber, and healthy carbs, which boost your metabolism and keep you feeling full all day long.

If you're not sure how to work these calorie-burning ingredients into your daily menu, start with these recipes. They all include at least one weight-loss superfood, and, best of all, they can be made in 30 minutes or less!

Thank you so much for posting these great recipes. I have been working really hard to lose weight before the summer rolls in so that I can feel more confident while I am swimming. I have been on the hc3 diet for a while now, and I have been looking for great meals to supplement it. These recipes that you have posted are great!

These foods to me seem to be trying to be trendy rather than tasty, and trendy and tasty usually dont go together, whats wrong with old fashioned foods that most people secretly prefer

There are a number of different types to choose from - some yogurts will fall into more than one category - for example whole milk bio yogurt.
Live yogurt has been fermented with live culture bacteria. It has a smooth, creamy texture and a fresh, slightly tangy flavour. Bio yogurt has had additional 'friendly' bacteria added to it. It has the mildest flavour and a particularly creamy texture.
Greek/strained yogurt can be made from cow or ewe milk. It has had quite a high proportion of its whey strained off, which creates a thick, mild and very creamy result. Although it has a higher fat content than other yogurts (around 10.2%), it's still lower in fat than cream.
Set yogurt is allowed to set in the pot in which it was sold, so has a firmer texture than other yogurts, but is still creamy and smooth.
Whole milk yogurt is made with whole milk, while low-fat yogurt is made with skimmed milk, and has a fat level of less than 2%. Long-life yogurt has been pasturised after fermentation in order to increase its shelf life, a process that kills off all its friendly bacteria.
Most yogurts are available either plain ('natural') or with additional flavourings. These can range from fresh fruit to sugar, artificial flavourings or additives such as starch, which acts as a thickener. Some yogurts are thickened with gelatine, which makes them inappropriate for vegetarians - always read the label.
Prepare it

Yogurts of all kinds are ready to use straight from the container. If you plan to cook with yogurt, bring it to room temperature before you add it to the dish, so that the temperature shock is not too great (otherwise it might curdle and separate), and add it to the dish spoon by spoon. Higher-fat yogurts are the best to cook with, as they're more stable.
If you want to cook with a low-fat yogurt you can increase its stability by making a paste of ½ tsp cornflour and 1 tsp water; stir it into the yogurt before you add the yogurt to the dish.
Store it

Ching’s dynamic approach to modern Chinese food is evident in her immensely popular TV work. Her earliest shows included Ching’s Kitchen (Good Food Channel, 2005), Chinese Food Made Easy (BBC2, 2008), and Chinese Food in Minutes (Channel Five, 2010). Subsequently she has enjoyed huge success with her Easy Chinese format: an original series entitled Easy Chinese: San Francisco (Cooking Channel, 2011) led to later series Easy Chinese: New York & L.A.(2012) and Easy Chinese: New Year Special (2013) (both Cooking Channel). More recently Ching returned to UK screens with Exploring China (BBC2, 2012), a collaboration with Ken Hom which was licensed on networks throughout the world. In addition to UK and US exposure, Ching’s programmes have been aired in Australia, Belgium, Germany, Iceland, New Zealand and Poland, as well as through BBC Lifestyle’s Asian feeds in China, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

In autumn 2013, Ching is shot her fourth show in partnership with the Cooking Channel. This exciting new series is provisionally titled Restaurant Redemption: over the course of thirteen half-hour episodes, Ching travels across the US to meet failing restaurateurs and help them save the businesses they love.
